Handmade Children’s Items Banned!

BANNED!
Have you all heard about the new law going into effect on February 10, 2009? While trying to believe the best of our government, I am very frustrated with how this is being handled.
Shannon at Rocks In My Dryer has done a great interview with Heather Anderson, a mom who makes nursing pillows, about how this will affect her business. (and others like it)
The Homeschooler’s Notebook has a good explanation as well. When the law was first written used items from places like Goodwill, yard sales, Ebay, etc. were included in the law. After public outcry there was an amendment made last Thursday to exclude used items. (Although the amendment was written with confusing, vague language.)
Let your voice be heard! Let’s keep this the land of the free…

I have e-mailed our state representative and senators about the law and encourage all of you to do the same.

Thanks for the great links. I’ll be doing my part – what a crazy law. I remember as a little girl going to the Tulsa Public Library Book Depository and getting all of our homeschooling books for absolutely free. I still have some of those wonderful “dangerous” books that I have treasured and WILL CONTINUE to treasure all my life. Socialism has tried to get a grip in the U.S. but we will make our voices heard and not tolerate this nonsense. Thanks again for the great links.
