We are looking into raising chickens for eggs and for meat. I’d like to get Barred Rock chickens for our egg layers and use the Jumbo Cornish X Rocks for meat.

Sometimes it’s overwhelming to hear the news and read about what’s happening… in our country and around the world. I want to stay up to date with what’s going on, but I end up feeling helpless!
There are so many things trying to hurt our families… corrupt governments, natural disasters, widespread sickness, chemicals in everything we eat and breathe….the list goes on and on…
That’s why I’m so thankful for God’s protection that is promised in Psalm 91.
Our family experienced the Lord’s protection first hand a few weeks ago. My husband was in a wreck on the way to work. This was his car after the wreck…
He was driving to work on the two land highway that leads to the interstate. All of a sudden a lady in the opposite lane fell asleep, swerved into his lane and hit his car. She almost flipped and was close to running into one of the many trees along the road. Adam got out of his car, he didn’t even have a scratch, and ran to the car of the lady that hit him, to see if she was okay. She was hurt pretty badly and he called 911.
It was a miracle that he wasn’t hurt!!! From the way that this lady hit him and all the other dangers close around, he is sure that if she HADN’T hit him, she would not be alive today.
After I found out he was okay and the lady was going to be alright, we started to ask the Lord to turn this situation around for our good.. did He ever!
His car was totaled, so we were able to take the insurance money and buy this…
Can I just tell you that NO CAR DEBT feels really good?!
I’m so thankful that he’s okay…Adam got to live out Psalm 91:16 that says, ”
“With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
When I tell people where I shop for groceries they often say, ” I’d love to shop there, but it’s too expensive!”. But, if I didn’t use some strategy, it would be too pricey for me as well!
Here are some frugal tips I use to make my grocery money work hard:
* Find out when your local grocery puts out the managers specials. These are foods that will expire in a few days and the store is motivated to get them out the door!
By finding these products and using them up quickly or preserving them, you can save up to 50% off full retail! Our local store marks things down early Monday morning…so that’s when we do our shopping!
*Every store has mark down areas. Locate these super saving areas and check them every time you are in the store. You never know what you’ll find!
* Use your coupons. Yes, I know this isn’t a secret tip, but it really works! I try to remember to bring my coupon book with me to the store, because the store seems to always have unadvertised sales that match my coupon.
