Dear Micowave Maker…

Dear microwave maker,
Why do you make the microwave door close so loudly? Do you not understand that I need to make a late-night snack for my husband and myself?
When the loud beep signals the end of the warming cycle, I can’t shut it off fast enough. I have sleeping children just down the hall! Please look into making a quiet door and a way to turn off the loud beeping.
I really enjoy making these late night snacks. I just don’t like thinking about having to tell my children why I’m holding a bowl of ice cream and hot fudge at midnight.
My sincerest thanks,
Laryssa

He he, too funny! I know exactly what you mean, loud appliances make sneaking food very difficult.

Hi Laryssa, I think your post was written tongue-in-cheek, because all good mom’s know that when sneaking food you must stand and w-a-t-c-h the microwave timer count down so that the microwave never actually beeps at all. but rather you open the door with one…second… to…spare on the timer! Also, when my kids were little, our microwave had a button/bar you had to push to make it pop open (have a different model now) so to make it close quietly, I would push the button while I ever-so-gently closed the door, releasing the button at the same time. Yes, necessity is the mother of invention, especially when it comes to having a snack – all alone – with your hushand. Have a great week! (Can’t wait for my mom to open my (your) gift! Thanks again.

This is so funny. My kids have learned to sleep through Mom’s midnight fridge raid. Lisa~
