Works For Me Wednesday: Toothpick Trick

Here is my Works For Me Wednesday tip hosted by Rocks In My Dryer

I thought I’d share something that has really helped me.  Our daughter is two and is usually a great eater.  But, sometimes she refuses to eat her meat.

This tip has been a meal saver.  at Call Her Blessed wrote this post. She said that if you give a kid a toothpick to eat with, then they will eat just about anything on their plate.

Guess what, it works!

Organic Gardening

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Stephanie at Keeper of the Home is hosting an Organic Gardening Carnival.

She asked if we would share our tips, tricks, successes and failures in organic gardening.

This is the first year that I’ve got to garden in a long time.  We just moved last July and I was very blessed to get to start my garden this spring.  I have a small plot about 7×14 that is right next to our house.  I tilled it and added compost.  We are in zone 6, so I had to wait until late May to plant.

A little tip…

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

Isn’t  funny how the things we use to clean our home and clothes get really dirty, really fast?

Like how the vacuum gets dusty and the washer and the dryer tops get nasty in a hurry.

We walk through our laundry room on the way to the garage, so it’s nicer to keep that room tidy!

This quick tip has helped me to keep our washer and dryer tops clean.

While you are putting your towels into the washer, grab one of the cleaner washcloths and get it damp with the hot water coming into the washer.

Do a quick wipe down of the washer and dryer knobs and then the tops.

Throw the washcloth into the washer and that’s it.  Simple and quick.

That’s my kind of cleaning!

Contentment

Hebrews 13:5 – Be content with what you have.

Lady Lydia at Home Living Helper has writen one of the most encourging posts I have read in a while.

She says:

“Contentment is found in noticing and mentally drinking in the natural things in life: the sunset, a raindrop on a leaf, the smell of spring, white clouds in a blue sky. Contentment is also attained by appreciating the simple things we use daily and caring for our belongings. From setting a table attractively and appreciating the china and the tablecloth, to dressing carefully in something clean and pretty, we can find contentment. Discontentment comes when our minds have been distracted by the world. Contentment comes from concentrating on things at hand.”
